Course contents :  Part on "teledetection":
- Electromagnetic radiation, electromagnetic spectrum, interactions with the atmosphere, interactions radiation-target, characteristics of images
- Receivers: spatial, spectral, radiometric and temporal resolution; geometric distortion; examples of land-based, aerial and spatial receivers
- Analysis of images: visual interpretation, development of images (enhancement, transformations, classification, integration, etc.)
- Applications to surveillance of an environment: agriculture, hydrology, geology, forestry, etc.
Part on "Geographical Information Systems":
- Basic Concepts
- Main functionalities of a GIS
- Models and Structures of databases
- Representation of geographical data
- Integration of spatial data
- Analysis of data in vectorial and matricial modes
- Spatial interpolation, aggregation, disaggregation
Course objective :  To Learn to use tools to represent the spatial information collected in a useful form for a decision maker.
Prerequisites :  To have a smattering of computer science and geography
Workshops :  Exercises : envi and arcgis
Written notes :  Power point support.
