| Course contents : | A number of topics in public economics will be covered, relating both to public expenditures and income. The approach is normative and positive. We address direct and indirect taxation including social choice aspects, social insurance, retirement income systems, and tax competition, notably at the level of corporate taxation. |

| Course objective : | Present the main reasons why the government intervenes in market economics, what are the limits of these interventions and how individuals react to such interventions. |
