DTFE0009-1  Multidisciplinary seminar
Duration :
Credits/ECTS :
Advanced Master in Tax Law15
Holder(s) :  Jean Bublot, Xavier Parent
Substitute(s) :  Marc Bourgeois
Language :  Langue française
Course contents :  The multidisciplinary seminar aims to replace the traditional final essay with dynamic meetings between students and practitioners on a determined subject and a 20-page written piece of work allowing students to describe theoretically and practically, an aspect of the subject chosen for the academic year in question.
Course objective :  The aim of the seminar is to open students' minds to other subjects that deal with a specific subject. Thus, students must understand that if they are specialising in fiscal law, other parameters relating to subjects other than fiscal law may influence decision-makers choices.
Prerequisites :  Since the seminar comes at the end of the course, students are expected to have a thorough understanding of the courses given during year.
Workshops :  No practical work is planned.
Organization :  The seminar is organised in different stages.

During the two or three evening sessions organised during the year, specially selected speakers will come to talk about their experiences in the field.

At the end of the year, one or two evening events will be organised, in order to allow students to come and explain their understanding of the subject studied over the year and explain their 20-page piece of written work.
Written notes :  Considering the specificity of the seminar, no course notes are planned.
Assessment :  Students are assessed at the end of their oral and written presentation of the subject. The jury will pay particular attention to the contacts students have initiated in the field.
Contacts :  Every student is allocated a tutor. Any difficulties in this respect should be addressed to Mr Jean BUBLOT, Chaussée de Louvain, 43/2, 1300 WAVRE (tel: 010/22.96.66. - fax: 010/22.74.73.). Mr BUBLOT can also be contacted at the following e-mail addresses: jean.bublot@ulg.ac.be or jean.bublot@jba.be.
