| Course contents : | Two-part seminar (in 2008-2009): 1° First part includes Professor Robert Jacob's seminar on the "Formation of European Laws in the Middle Ages" (six classes by M. Garapon, director of the Institut des Hautes Etudes sur le Justice - Paris); 2° The other part dedicated to reading certain passages from "Léviathan" by Hobbes (four or five sessions) |

| Course objective : | To better understand the relations between positive law and its external influences. |

| Organization : | Course organised in the first semester in 2008-2009. |

| Assessment : | Students will be assessed on the basis of an oral presentation within the framework of the course and a written piece of work written following this presentation. |
