| Course contents : | A first part of the course presents the institutional framework of European social Law. The following chapters regard successively the fundamental social rights at the Community level ( in particular equality between male and female workers, and the free movement of workers ), employment promotion, and the harmonization of national employment and industrial relations laws. The last part concerns the European coordination of national labour and social security laws.
An introduction to each substantive matter focuses on the link between the European legal regulation and the main problematics of social policies, the ones the European Authorities and the National Governments have to deal with. An analysis of the decisions of the E.C. Court of Justice completes the picture.
Concluding remarks refer to the public debate on the European social model(s). |
