Course contents :  The course is over five mechanisms from the Roman law system which realize conveyance of rights without compensation.
The five mechanisms include the idea of gratuitousness and several exceptions of the general system.
Course objective :  This course has for purpose to display the general economy of the decedent's estate law and liberalities but also to show the standard that have inspirited the lawmaker for each exception of the system.
Prerequisites :  The main purpose of the course involves the knowledge of course "the Obligation Theory and the contract ". Recalls of theses subjects are made during the lectures.
Organization :  The course is given following the time table fixed at the beginning of the year.
Written notes :  The main advised handbook is P.DELNOY, Les libéralités et les successions , Larcier edition, in the collection of the faculty.

This handbook is regularly updated. It is better to buy the book only when the Professor gives the instructions at the beginning of the year.
Assessment :  The examination will be in May or June and will include, at least, a practical exercise over a liquidation of decedent's estate
