| Course contents : | The aim of the course is to describe from a general point of view the Belgian judicial system. It constitutes a prerequisite for the course of procedural law, which is to be studied thereafter by Law students. |

| Organization : | Lectures and tutorials take place during the first quarter of the year |

| Written notes : | The course's teaching is based on Professor G. de Leval's book, Institutions judiciaires, available to students at the University Press. |

| Assessment : | Assessment will be by a written exam. Students are required to demonstrate their knowledge and their understanding of matters exposed in Professor de Leval's book and during the lectures as well. |
