Course contents :  Advantages of composite materials. Properties of polymeric matrix: polyester, epoxy, PUR. Description of properties of reinforcement: glass, carbon, Kevlar, bore, silicium. Comparison with other materials. Description of composites: isotropic, anisotropic, tubes and reservoirs, sandwich, boats. Models for composite materials. Simplified methods for calculation. Fabrication methods.



Types of welding (full penetration, butt, ...) in connection with domain of applications and the thickness to be considered, modern technologies of welding (automatic, semi automatic, laser, ....), modes of calculation, make industrial use (cost), ....
Course objective :  Understand and use design techniques and fabrication methods for composites and welding
