Course contents :  Technical, economic, geopolitical and sociological characteristics of the energy industry. Sources, consumption, production, reserves and resources of primary energy. Fossil fuels and their properties. Introduction to combustion and its resulting pollutants. Combustibles and nuclear reactors. Other branches of nuclear technology and reactor technology.
Course objective :  General introduction to primary energy vectors and techniques for converting chemical and nuclear energy into thermal energy.
Organization :  The course takes place on Tuesday mornings from 0830 to 1030 in the first quarter.
Written notes :  Copy of overheads
Assessment :  Oral exam during the January session.
