3. Replication of DNA - Transcription of DNA - Synthesis of proteins.
4. Functions of proteins.
5. Structure and function of biological membranes.
6. Energy metabolism: photosynthesis, use of glucose and fatty acids. |

| Course objective : | To give engineering students an introduction to the chemical phenomena that are characteristic of living matter. |

| Prerequisites : | Course in general chemistry, organic chemistry and physical chemistry at the candidate level (Bac 2). |

| Organization : | 7 classes 2 hours long each. |
