Course objective :  
  • To understand technologies used with deployable structures
  • To analyze and/or model the behaviour of deployable structures
Prerequisites :  
  • Dynamics of mechanical systems
  • Kinematics and dynamics of mechanisms
Workshops :  
  • A paper on modelling with the software program SAMCEF/MECANO
  • Case study based on scientific articles
Organization :  This course consists of four class meetings on theoretical topics (2h) and four class meetings for practical work (2h).
Written notes :  Slides and reference articles are available on WebCT.
Assessment :  Paper on modelling: 30 %
Case study: 30 %
Oral examination on theoretical topics: 40 %
