| AERO0023-1 | Aircraft design
| Duration : | 30h Th, 30h Pr |
| Credits/ECTS : |
| Holder(s) : | Ludovic Noels |
| Language : | Langue française |
| Course contents : | During these classes, the students will learn about the integrated design of an aircraft. Indeed, each technical field is seen as a sub-system interacting with the others.
Therefore, the organisation is as follows. An introductive talk describes, through history, these interactions, and a concluding talk will introduce the project of designing an aircraft.
Between these two classes, professors will introduce the concepts of
- Aerodynamics
- Structures (forces balance, beams, shells, fracture mechanics, composites, ...)
- Propulsion (flow and mechanical design)
- Performances
- Stability
- Aeroelasticity
| Prerequisites : | Elementary knowledges in
- Solid mechanics
- Fluid mechanics
| Workshops : | Industrial partners are invited to give lectures during which they illustrate the theoretical concepts with realizations of aeronautic companies. |
