| Course contents : | Students take part in medical examinations, treatments and necropsies of birds, rabbits and new companion animals sent directly by owners or by veterinarians for specialized examinations |

| Course objective : | The teaching objectives of the organized clinical activities are: to train students to the collection of clinical signs in birds, rabbits and NCA; to develop their diagnosis aptitudes; to make them establish a vital, economic, sporting or zootechnical prognosis; to apply treatment and settle preventive measures. It must be emphasized that most often the diagnosis is based on post-mortem examination. Farm visits complete this formation
Post-mortem examinations:
- to settle a differential diagnosis and to determine the cause of death;
- to confirm or to establish the aetiological diagnosis and to propose the right confirming laboratory technique.
These post mortem examinations are a significant part of students' everyday work.
According to legal limits on farm visits improve this teaching. |

| Prerequisites : | Notions dedicated to birds, rabbits, and new companion animals that are developed during the theoretical courses from the 1st and 2e years of doctorat (propaedeutics, parasitology, bacteriology, virology) are of the uppermost importance. |

| Organization : | 1 week of clinical activities. |

| Assessment : | Permanent evaluation during the clinic and theoritical and practical exams during the exam session. |
