| Course objective : | The main objective is to initiate the future doctor in veterinary medicine to epidemiological step and risk assessment. The comprehension of diseases, infectious or not, needs to consider such a step. |

| Prerequisites : | The study of epidemiology and risk assessment applied to animal diseases requires the previous knowledge of courses of biostatistics and epidemiology applied to veterinary medicine given in 3rd candidature in veterinary medicine. |

| Organization : | · Ten hours course in a lecture room. · courses are widely illustrated by a computer-helped presentation. · Interactions between lecturer and students take place during the course. · The teacher is available to answer questions at the end of the course. |

| Assessment : | A written exam is organized at the same time than the exam of viral diseases pathology. |

| Remarks : | The courses of viral diseases pathology and epidemiology and risks assessment applied to animal diseases are gathered in one exam. For each of these two topics, the student receives a quotation over 20 points. Nevertheless, the student must pass both topics. If the student has an insufficient result in one of both topics, he will have to take the exam again for that topic. |
