| Course contents : | Justification of fundamental assumptions in the case of incompressible thin films. Equation of Stokes, of dissipation and finally description of basic Reynolds equation. Numerical methods of treatment. Special problems like: Field of temperatures in steady-state regime, field of pressures and shaft trajectories during a non-stationary cycle (engine rods), problems of instability in journal bearings, squeeze films hydrostatic of incompressible fluids, elastohydrodynamic, rheology of greases and porous bearings. Resolution of problems. |
| Course objective : | Overview of the various types of bearings and lubrication modes: hydrodynamic, hydrostatic and elastohydrodynamic, as well in stationary regime as in non-stationary. Study of basic rheology of greases. |
| Prerequisites : | MECA 0011-1 ; MECA 0049-2 |
| Workshops : | The two last hours are devoted to the resolution of traditional problems inspired of the industrial experiment of laboratory EMT of Tribology. |
| Organization : | Course organized in 4 hours units: 2 hours of course, 2 hours of practice. |
