| Course objective : | This neurological module aims to make students understand, through a mult-disciplinary approach, the anatomo-functional organisation of the Nervous System and the physio-pathologie of the main neurological syndromes that could benefit from physical treatment. |
| Prerequisites : | The basics of the anatomy of the Nervous System taught in secondary education and the 'Introduction to Human Anatomy' taught in S2, General Histology, a theoretical course on neuro-anatomy. |
| Workshops : | Neuro-anatomy: Plexus and cranial nerves, Eye and ear, Brain dissection
Histology: Microscope observation of nerve tissue cells
Rehabilitation basics: Illustrations of the main stretching and strengthening techniques used in re-education. The students also participate in iso-kinetik evaluation and strengthening demonstrations. |
| Organization : | This course is organised around 40h theoretical courses and 5h practical work. |
| Written notes : | Neuro-anatomy: Neuroanatomy, organisation anatomo-fonctionnelle du système nerveux: du symptôme neurologique à la localisation de la lésion. J. Schoenen. (Syllabus AREM)
Histology, Biochemistry, Sport traumology applied to the musculoskeletal system, Re-education basics, General Pathology: Course reading available from the lecturers concerned.
Special pathology: Course syllabus available from Intercopy as far as the first part is concerned and on MyULg for recently updated material. |
| Assessment : | Written multi-disciplinary exam (Multiple choice and open questions) |
