LOCO0524-1  Multidisciplinary approach to the musculoskeletal system (partim I) ¿ theory
Duration :  50h Th
Credits/ECTS :
Bachelor in physiotherapy and readaptation, 2nd yearDeuxième quadrimestre5
Holder(s) :  Jean‑Louis Croisier, Marguerite Foidart‑Dessalle, Philippe Gillet
Language :  Langue française
Course contents :  1. Osseous, osteoarticular and muscular anatomy of upper and lower limbs.

Three subjects are studied in these domains:

- osteology, which studies the in-depth study of bones, and, in particular the relation between form and function

- arthrology, or study of articulations, with a focus on the relation between form and function, as well as the structures of articulary stabilization

- myology, or the study of muscles, their form, their insertions, and their action.

2. Analyses of movements and articulary constraints of the limbs including the muscular and articulary testing.

In coordination with the anatomy course, this course analyses the movements of articulations and focuses on range of motion and muscular testing. It analyses the walk. It studies the constraints undergone by the various articulations.
Course objective :  1. Reinforce the knowledge of anatomy and of movements of upper and lower limbs.

2. Provoke a reflection on the mechanisms and safety of athletic movements.
Prerequisites :  1. Introduction to the human anatomy (BIOL0519-1), course scheduled in the second semester (Pr. Bonnet).

2. Basic notions of experimental Physics in kinesitherapy and physical education including the mathematical introduction to the applied sciences (PHYS0511-1) (1st year)

3. Biomechanics (partim I: KINE0524-1) applied to the human movement (2nd year six-month period 1).
Workshops :  Biomechanics: 15 hours
Organization :  - Lectures
- Group assignments
- Summary sessions
Written notes :  Course notes with illustrations available at INTERCOPY and on MyULg.

The slides used in the Anatomy course will be available in print and on CD-ROM (powerpoint) and on MyULg. This is exam material.
