| Course objective : | Useful informations about the field. Methodological preparation required for elaborating the dissertation the student will have to present at the end of his studies in Oriental languages and literatures. Includes glimpses of ancient Indian and pre-Islamic Iranian history. |

| Organization : | 15 h spread out over the second semester. Timetable set with the students. Opening session in September announced on Section notice board. The attendance is obligatory. |
