Course contents :  Detailed study of an actual topic in literary and cultural theory: the question of identification and subjectivation as it is seen by various authors working in the postructuralist and/or psychoanalytic tradition and its relevance for the study of literature and culture.
Course objective :  Making the students acquainted with reading contemporary theoretical texts. Increasing their capacities to acquire the necessary knowledge on a theoretical subject and the relevant terminology.
Prerequisites :  Having a sufficient command of French and English for reading theoretical texts in these languages.
Workshops :  Preparation of one or several individual presentations.

Individual presentations and collective discussions of the texts that are dealt with.
Written notes :  Texts distributed by the lecturer.
Assessment :  Oral exam, in the June session.
