Course contents :  The course is based on an integrated course manual at intermediate level aimed at business people and students of business English:

-Cotton, Falvey and Kent. Market Leader. Intermediate Business Course Book. New edition. Pearson Education, 2005.

This course manual is organized around thematic units relating to management and economic life. It offers a range of activities (articles from The Financial Times, expert interviews, speaking and writing tasks, case studies, grammar and vocabulary exercices) dealt with and exploited in class (current international economic news articles, translations, oral presentations, etc.)
Course objective :  Communication skills acquisition and practice in both everyday and business contexts (reading and listening comprehension, oral and written skills, debates, reports, meetings, phone calls, business correspondence, etc.)

Special attention is given to preparing students to take examinations in English at partner universities in the following year.

In continuity with and extension of the grammar and vocabulary seen in 1st Bac, the course refers to a course reader covering essential pronunciation, accentuation and spelling rules amply illustrated by examples.
Prerequisites :  The course is open to HEC-Ulg students having successfully completed the 1st Bac course programme requirements, and to external students with an equivalent (intermediate) level of everyday and business English.
Organization :  A 60-hour course taught 2 hours per week throughout the year.

Assessment :  The total mark is obtained from the average between:

-a written exam (organised in the January exam session),

- a written and oral exam (organised in the June exam session).
