| Course contents : | Texts used in class will be extracted from the main Japanese newspapers : Mainichi, Shinbun, Nihon Keizai Shinbun, etc. Topics will range from political & socio-economic life to weather, disasters, ... in Japan. Students will have to understand & paraphrase the text in Japanese. |

| Course objective : | The course will develop the students' communication skills for miscellaneous circumstances. Introduction to the newspaper jargon. |

| Organization : | Each article will be presented with a vocabulary list, grammar notes & exercises. After each class, there will be a discussion on the topic of the text.
