| Course contents : | This course deals with the advanced technologies in the fields of intelligent information processing and data communication systems.
1. Intelligent information processing (Daniel Dubois): 1.1. Introduction to artificial intelligence and life: learning algorithms, neural networks, genetic algorithms, intelligent agents, ... 1.2. Presentation of advanced technologies software packages of the market and open source softwares. 1.3. Applications analysis: systems of patterns recognition, systems of voice recognition and synthesis, piloting of computer-based applications by the voice, automatic translation, intelligent internet agents, etc.
2. Communications technologies (Eric Vyncke): 2.1. Technologies LAN (Ethernet, switch). 2.2. Techniques for mobility (GPRS, UMTS, mobile IP, WiFi, WiMax, RFID). 2.3. Introduction to IPv4 and IPv6, TCP/IP. 2.4. Multi-media: sounds, images, videos. Digitalization, compression and transport. 2.5. Telephony on IP: codec, transmission, problem of latency, call centers, interactive voice response. |

| Course objective : | The objectives of this course deal with advanced technologies in information systems in of management engineering.
On the one hand, this course constitutes an introduction to the tools and software packages based on artificial intelligence and life whose applications are increasingly numerous like, for example, the speech recognition and the control of a PC by the voice.
On the other hand, this course treats last projections in the fields of the communication technologies (LAN), the techniques for the mobility (GPRS, WiFi), the multimedia techniques (sounds, images, videos) and the telephony.. |
