| Course objective : | Understanding of management information system, database, data bank and how to use them in order to find the required information. This lecture has also a technical aspect. |

| Prerequisites : | Fundamentals of computer science and computer literacy Ability of use Windows, Internet Explorer (or equivalent browser). Effective use of at least one programming language (C, Pascal, javascript, ...) Ability to use MS-Access will be benefitial. |

| Workshops : | The practical exercices are done in two ways:
- during the lecture in order to immediately practice the learned notions
- in a group exercice: high volume of work but not scheduled. Could also be done outside of the University

| Organization : | Theory course with reference to real-life cases Practical exercises during the course : creation, modification and queries in SQL ; creation of a dynamic website with links to a database |
