| Course contents : | Theory and method in prehistoric archaeology. Evolution of cognitive abilities via archaeological artefacts. |

| Course objective : | Stimulate thought concerning the potential of archaeological assemblages considered over the long-term, both as to their potential spiritual meanining and as evidence of long-term global evolution. |

| Workshops : | Not formally, but visits to exhibitions and laboratories are planned. |

| Organization : | Seminars led by the professor, his scientific personnel and invited colleagues. |
 |
| Written notes : | Copies of images presented during seminars are available (with commentary), as well as the principal scientific articles relative to the themes discussed. |
 |
| Assessment : | Active participation in seminars and visits constitutes the best means of evaluation at this level, but an oral exam at the end of the year is also required (exam session in June). |
