Course contents :  Course Description: The underlying philosophy of this advanced course is to investigate some of the 'hot' topics of financial markets and their relationships with corporate management; this course is relying on some previous finance courses (Investments, Financial Markets, Corporate Finance, Options, ...). The topics which have been discussed last academic year were : Market Efficiency, Value Creation in Finance, Hedge Funds, Private Equity. Participants are required to carry out some personal research on the different topics. The course is organized in the following manner: the topics are presented by the participants themselves, and the participants are supposed to be able to answer to questions asked by the other participants and the Professor and his staff.
Course objective :  Objectives of the course:

- to rely on the background knowledge in financial markets and financial management, and to be able to make a thorough investigation and presentation of the chosen topics;

- to gain a further understanding and skill in some of the most important concepts in modern finance (in relation to the firm's strategy);

- to develop (further) the research ability in the finance field;

- to design and carry out a professional presentation of the topics.

Organization :  The seminar sessions (i.e. presentations) are to be scheduled in May or June (the calendar will be availabe later on).
Assessment :  Evaluation:

The evaluation is based on:

- the research file that participants will have to build (instructions will be given in a special session to be scheduled);

- the answers to questions during the presentations;

- the presentation itself: content, style (professionalism, understandability,...), interactivity è overall quality.
