Course contents :  Far away from offering a detailed directory of techniques, the course aims at highlighting the main orientations of current HRM practices and their modalities in various organisational contexts.
It thus envisages the following items: organizational entries and exits (planning, recruitment, lay-offs), training, evaluation, promotion, compensation, leadership and communication, labour time flexibility. Such variables enable to build different HRM ¿models¿ and to put them into relation with the diverse forms of modern organizations.
Course objective :  The objectives are both analytical (diagnosis of HRM policies) and theoretical (initiation to current debates in HR literature).
Prerequisites :  "Introduction à la théorie des organisations" or "GRH et Relations professionnelles"
Organization :  Interactive seminar, on the basis of readings outside the classroom and oral presentations which have to be given to invited professionals from the HRM field
Written notes :  PICHAULT F. et NIZET J., Les pratiques de gestion des ressources humaines. Approches contingente et politique, Paris, Seuil, 2000, col. "Points/Essai Sciences humaines".
Assessment :  Participation to the course + preparation of one meeting of the seminar + redaction of a working paper on this meeting, with an integration of the remarks expressed by the invited professional.
