Course contents :  An introduction to paleontology.
Course objective :  the class will learn general knowledge of paleontological topics: fossilization, speciation and evolution, mass extinctions, oring and evolution of early Life on earth and implications for astrobiology, palynology, origin and evolution of land plants
Prerequisites :  general geology
Workshops :  observations of microfossils, fossil plants and invertebrates; visit of palynology and thin section laboratories.
Organization :  Lectures are organized in three modules, each of them given by a specialist.
Written notes :  powerpoint presentations online and printed copy
Assessment :  written examination
