| Duration : | 15h Th, 15h Pr |
| Credits/ECTS : |
| Holder(s) : | Eric Pirard, Philippe Trefois |
| Language : | Langue française |
| Course contents : | This course is split in two parts.
The first one focusses on principles of images acquisition and image processing
The second one deals more specifically with application in quantitative mineralogical image analysis and geological remote sensing |
| Course objective : |
- To give the students a complete overview of the possibilities to quantify information within images
- To present the basis of image acquisition and filtering with a particular emphasis on mathematical morphology
- To offer students the possibility to pratice imaging tools and applications in mineral sciences
- To give each a a basic knowledge to adequately choose the hardware and software needed to address a given problem
