Course contents :  General introduction including a short history of geology, geological cycle, sedimentary process, tectonics, magmatic and metamorphic petrology, micropaleontology, palaeopalynology, palaeobotany, paleontology.
Course objective :  Basic knowledge of fundamentals of tectonics (main structures), magmatic and metamorphic petrology (phase diagrams), sedimentology (sedimentary process), paleontology (major fossil groups).
Workshops :  Study of stone samples, fossils and fieldwork. Exercices on the use of phase diagrams and representation of mineral parageneses.
