civil engineering in electricity, 1st year5,5
civil engineering in physics, 1st year5,5
civil engineering in physics (programme for "licenciés" in physics sciences), 1st year5,5
Holder(s) :  Benoît Vanderheyden
Language :  Langue française
Course contents :  Diodes, bipolar junction transistors, and field-effect transistors. Diode circuits. Basic single stage amplifier configurations. Biasing devices and achieving thermal stability. Small-signal equivalent circuit models. Differential and multistage amplifiers. Frequency response. Frequency poles. Miller effect. Cascode amplifier. Power amplifiers and power output stages. Basic components of an operational amplifier.
Course objective :  The objectives are twofold: first, to present the basic electronic devices and their functional behavior, and second, to expose the elementary concepts that are necessary for analyzing and designing analog electronic circuits.
Workshops :  Exercice sessions (solving problems with a teaching assistant), numerical simulations of elementary circuits, laboratory sessions.
Organization :  The course, the exercice sessions, and the labs are scheduled for the 2nd quadrimester.
