| Course contents : | This course introduces the fundamentals of electric lumped circuits analysis. Topics covered include : 1. Basic concepts : circuit variables (voltage, current, power), basic components (resistance, voltage and current sources), basic laws (Ohm, Kirchhoff) - 2. Fundamental theorems : Tellegen, substitution, superposition, Thevenin and Norton equivalents - 3. General techniques of circuit analysis : the mesh-current and the node-voltage methods - 4. Response of first (RC, RL) and second (RLC) order circuits - 5. Sinusoidal steady-state analysis and power calculations, resonant circuits, balanced three-phase circuits - 6. The use of Laplace transform in circuit analysis - 7. Two-port circuits. |

| Course objective : | The course aims at providing the student with an understanding of the basic electrical lumped circuit analysis techniques. |

| Workshops : | Tutorials including resolution of classical problems. |

| Organization : | The course is taught during the second semester (Tuesday morning). |
