Course contents :  The objective of this seminar is to develop students' research, presentation and debating skills regarding a particular topic international economics using economic tools.

Topics vary from year to year. Examples of topics include:
- Doha Development Round
- Outsourcing
- Fair trade
- International trade and labour standards
- International trade and child labour
- Trade in services (GATS)
- Globalisation and the access to medicines (TRIPS)
- Developing countries and trade in agricultural products
Prerequisites :  ECON 0842 - International Trade Economics
Organization :  During the first lecture, student teams will be formed and topics will be assigned.

Each student team will prepare a document on the assigned topic. This document will be distributed to other students two weeks before the actual presentation.

In addition, each student will be either a discussant or chair one session.

All students are required to actively participate in the discussions.

Attendance at all lectures is compulsory.
Assessment :  Students will be evaluated on the basis of:
- their presentation
- the quality of the report on the assigned topic
- their role as discussant or chair
- their active participation in the discussions
- the quality of their report summarising the discussions on each topic.
