| Course contents : | The course has several sections : the first part looks at the specifics of architects' contracts - the status of the architect - the 1939 Act, the 1963 Act, professional ethics bylaws, monopoly and incompatibilities, the 2006 Act on granting of tenure, house mission contents and reach (including responsibilities concerning town planning decrees), forming contracts, contract cessation. The second part looks at the status of the contractor: registering the business, access to the profession, aggregation, anti-worker abuse registering and dispositions, relationships with sub-contractors and agency worker suppliers. The third part looks at home missions, the status and responsibilities of engineers, research departments, pilot businesses, quantity surveyors, quality surveyors, developers, building site security coordinators, project managers, real estate leasing, etc (including the provisions of the Breyne Law). The fourth part will look at various aspects of procurement contracts. The fifth part consists of a brief glance at the construction insurance market: RC Exploitation, TRC, insurance inspection, the duties of civil architects and engineers. The sixth part looks at the particular perspective of architects and contractors in terms of town-planning violations. This overall plan is subject to modification by current developments and the expressed wishes of students. |

| Course objective : | To go into the details of several aspects of the contentious issue of construction, whilst avoiding repeating aspects covered by other law courses (contract law, property law). |

| Prerequisites : | This course is reserved for third 'licence' students or students who already have a law degree. |
 |
| Organization : | The material is delivered orally in chunks of two or three hours according to availibility. Real cases will be frequently looked at in order to illustrate in practice the principles taught. Moreover, unless required when we will consider cases communicated one week in advance, students are not required to do personal work. |
