Course contents :  The course is divided into 5 parts:

Climatology and topoclimatology of the polar zone

Climatology and topoclimatology of the temperate zone

Climatology and topoclimatology of the subtropical zone
Climatology and topoclimatology of the tropical zone

Climatology and topoclimatology of the equatorial zone
Course objective :  Fine analysis of topoclimatic specificities of great climatic zones of the earth.

Analysis of space-time variabilities of principal climatic parameters.

Taking into account of the distributions of oceans-continents and orography together planetary and regional atmospheric circulations.
Prerequisites :  Basic concepts in climatology and meteorology
Workshops :  Personal report on the climate of a part of the planet and lecture to present to the other students
Organization :  Theoretical courses (15 H): the course is given in 5 meetings of 3 hours.

Practical work (15 H): thematical seminar to be prepared severally.
Written notes :  The notes of course are distributed according to the advance of the course (extracted from specialized publications)
Assessment :  Written examination: 15/20

Personal seminar: 5/20
