Duration :  30h Th, 10h Pr, 20h Mon. WS
Credits/ECTS :
Master in Mathematical Sciences, in-depth approach, 1st yearToute l'année10
Master in Mathematical Sciences, didactic approach, 1st yearToute l'année10
Master in Mathematical Sciences, specialized approach, 1st yearToute l'année10
Master in Mathematical SciencesToute l'année10
Holder(s) :  Arlette Noels‑Grötsch
Language :  Langue française
Course contents :  The first part of the course is a discussion of the equations governing the internal structure and the evolution of stars. The numerical method used to obtain solutions to this non linear differential system of equations is presented. Results are then described and discussed using a linear approach or simplified models.
Course objective :  The aim is to know the different phases of stellar evolution and also to learn how to interpret results with the help of simple assumptions.
Prerequisites :  The course entitled Internal structure of stars.
Organization :  The course is given during the second semester. Three hour sessions are organized.
Written notes :  A syllabus is available.
Assessment :  Each student chooses a topic discussed during the course and presents it during in 20 minutes. The other parts of the course are subject to short additional questions
