| AERO0016-3 | Aeroelasticity
| Duration : | 20h Th |
| Credits/ECTS : |
| Holder(s) : | Grigorios Dimitriadis |
| Language : | Langue française |
| Course contents : |
- General introduction to aeroelastic phenomenae
- Static aeroelasticity: typical section concept, divergence, control surface efficiency.
- Dynamic aeroelasticity: unsteady aerodynamics and the Theodorsen function, flutter and solution methods.
| Course objective : | This course provides an introduction to aeroelasticity. It focuses more particularly on the main aeroelastic phenomenae (divergence, flutter, command inversion, lift redistribution) and describes the main semi-analytical solution methods used in linear aeroelasticity. |
| Prerequisites : |
- Introductory course in aerodynamics.
- Introductory course in structural dynamics.
| Workshops : | Topics developped in class will be applied through an integrated exercise (AERO0019-1) aiming at the design of an airplane wing. |
| Written notes : | Class notes will be available online through MyULg. |
| Assessment : | Oral exam. |
