Health and reproduction management of ruminants and pigs (60 h of controlled exercises)

Course contents : 18 weeks of cattle farms visits whose 60h of supervised exercises.
Course objective : To familiarize the intern with the functioning of dairy and beef cattle farms.

To familiarize the intern with the herd health management : production, reproduction and health.

Clinical examination of the herd.

Data collection and introduction in the software Gardian.

Audit of an cattle herd.
Prerequisites : Veterinary medicine diploma
Workshops : Foot trimming.

Echography of the genital tract.

Using of the different scores : body condition score, rumen fill, feces, udder, legs etc.
Organization : The intern takes part in the farms visits and in paraclinical activities every two weeks.
Written notes : Without object.
Assessment : Continuing evaluation throughout the year.
