Course contents : Variable according to caseload availabilities.
Course objective : Necropsy demonstrations organized in 3rd doctorate aim to reach the following objectives :

  • to display in front of the whole section references on clinical cases of special relevance on a pathology standpoint ;
  • to insist, draw attention and summarize pathological conditions of particular interest ;
  • to train students to write necropsy reports.
In order to optimise the impact of necropsy demonstrations, staff from the other departments of the Faculty and field veterinarians are regularly invited to share their views during "clinical-pathological confrontations".
Organization : During the three first weeks devoted to theoretical teaching in the third doctorate program (see schedule).
Assessment : There is no formal evaluation of necropsy demonstrations. They are most important in the frame of the other evaluations run by the department.
