Biology and surgical techniques

Course contents : Surgical biology : hemorrhage shock, wound healing, woung sepsis, hydric and electrolytic support, nutritional support, post-op complications. Surgical techniques : patien and surgeon preparation, suture, bandages, hemostasis, contention, instruments, sterilisation, wound treatment.
Course objective : To master the basic notions in surgical biology and techniques related to small and large domestic animals.
Prerequisites : Anatomy, physiology, histology taught in bachelor study years.
Organization : The course agenda is communicated at the beginning of the year.
Written notes : Available at the student office.
Assessment : One MCQ type written exam with general implicit solutions is organized during each exam session.
