Common course

Ethology

  • definitions and the four questions of Tinbergen;
  • history;
  • behavioural mechanisms(innate and acquired) ;
  • evolution of behaviour(domestication effect).

Ethograms

Description of the ethogram of most domestic species.

Complement in ethology applied

Basic knowledge of animal welfare applied to companion animals.
Course objective : Understanding how a healthy domestic animal is behaving, and how to understand it.
Written notes : The eventual availability of written notes will be communicated during the course.

Assessment : Oral examination.
