| Course contents :
| This course complements and develops the SPOL1203-2 course (Introduction to international relations). It consists of three main parts:
1) the issue of the State and its relative decline; the emergence and empowerment of new international partners and their contribution to new forms of political action; forms of regional integration;
2) major current political and economic issues; the impact of globalisation;
3) case studies: American Foreign Policy, Middle East Conflicts, International Terrorism, etc. | |

| Course objective :
| the aim of the course is to help students understand major current geopolitical and geostrategic issues. | |
|  | | |
| Prerequisites :
| Students who wish to take this course should read a couple of book-length studies on international relations and be aware of what is going on on the international scene.
The book of Jean-Claude ZARKA, Relations internationales, Paris, Ellipses, 2e éd., 2005, is highly recommended.
They must also be able to read books and articles in English. | |
