Course contents : This course constitutes a general introduction to sociology, its main authors and paradigms. Students will be introduced to this discipline by focusing on three concepts: roles, power and communication through a three-levels'analysis (interpersonal, groups and society).
Course objective : Objectives:

  • To present a general history of sociology as a scientific discipline and place sociology within human and social sciences;
  • To approach the main paradigms, authors and theories;
  • To study three key-concepts (Roles, Power and Communication) through a three-levels'analysis (interpersonal, groups and society).
Prerequisites : None
Organization : Ex-Cathedra lectures. The course will be organised during the first semester.
