Psychology of the relation of assistance

Course contents : Study of the concept of "counselling" within the framework of the current practice of clinical psychology:

- The course will deepen some specific aspects of the complex relational dynamics that develop between the clinical psychologist and his/her patients, such as: characteristics and specific issues of the clinical relationship, motivations and "functions" of the clinical spychologist. The course will use the works of C. Rogers, S. Freud and other contemporary psychologists.

- The course will develop examples of clinical practice in varous areas and settings (adoption of children, help to people in jail, help to peaople in hospitals...)
Course objective : Initiation to current clinical psychology, in particular to the relational dimension of clinical practice, through:
1) a theoretical approach
2) the presentation of some specific practical aspects of the work of the clinical psychologist.
Prerequisites : Mandatory 3rd year course
Organization : Oral course
Clinical psychologists are invited to present aspects of their work
The course is evaluated by the students.
Written notes : Reading list.
Assessment : Writtent examination.
