Course contents : Experimental principles in preclinical and clinical research in psychopharmacology; cognitive and behavioural effects of psychotropic drugs; the main theories and models of addiction; opiates; nicotine and caffeine; cocaine, amphetamine and ecstasy; alcohol; marijuana and cannabinoids; hallucinogens; anxiolytic drugs; antidepressant drugs; antipsychotic drugs; inhalants; other psychotropic drugs.
Course objective : Understanding of the contribution of experimental psychopharmacology to the understanding of human behavior.
Prerequisites : Basic knowledge in cellular neurobiology and experimental and cognitive psychology.
Workshops : No practicals in the official cursus.
