Biological Psychology

Course contents : Types of variables and main methodological strategies used in biological psychology. The second part presents an overview of the main sub-disciplines constituting the larger field of biological psychology (psychophysiology, experimental neuropsychology, psychoimmunology, experimental psychopharmacology, behavioural genetics, cognitive neuroscience, evolutionary psychology, etc). For each sub-discipline, scientific results taken from the litterature and several biopsychology handbooks are used to explain and illustrate (graphs, schematic figures) the conceptual and methodological particularities of each sub-discipline.
Course objective : To explain the contribution of the study of biology-psychology relationships to the understanding of basic psychology.
