Course contents : The course is devoted to the reading and explanation of one work from Plato or Aristotle. In 2006-2007, it will be Aristotle's "On the soul".
Course objective : The aim of the course is learning to read an ancient philosophical text by the understanding of its particular expression and way of thinking.
Prerequisites : Not available
Organization : In 2006-2007, the course will be done in the second half-year, 2 hours per week during 12 weeks.
Written notes : It is requested to read the book: Aristotle, On the Soul, translated in french by Pierre Thillet (Paris, Gallimard Folio Essais, 2005).
Assessment : Oral examination in June.
