Seminars of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmacy

Course contents : The objective of the seminars of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmacy is the training of the student to the pharmaceutical formulation in terms of composition, manufacture and evaluation based on physicochemical and biopharmaceutic knowledge previously acquired in order to familiarize itself with the composition of the pharmaceutical products before the officinal training course.
Course objective : With the end of this E-learning, the student will have to be able:
  • To analyze the formulation of the proprietary medical products whatever the galenic form, by specifying the major role of certain excipients in the formulation.
  • To understand the mechanism of release of the active substance from the pharmaceutical form
  • to identify a manufactoring process according to the composition of the speciality
  • to describe the design of the most elaborated forms to explain the specific pharmacokinetic profiles of the selected pharmaceutical form.
  • To explain the specific pharmacokinetic profiles of a new proprietary medical products.
  • To bring a judicious council to the patient for an optimal use of the drug.
  • To be critical with respect to information accompanying the marketing by the new proprietary medical products.
Prerequisites : Physico-chemical principles applicated

to Pharmaceutical Technology.
Organization : The seminaries are now supported by an online course. Each student has its own password and identifiant to login. Address can be found on the Ulg Website. All the informations about the online course can be found in the 2005-2006 issue of the syllabus
Assessment : On line evaluation organized at the faculty.
