| | | |
| Course contents :
| Computer simulation of the kinematics and dynamics of mechanical systems with flexible components : theory of rigid body kinematics (matrix formalism, methods for representation of finite rotations, computation of instantaneous positions, velocities and accelerations through incremental procedure) ¿ description of kinematic joints ¿ modeling of flexible members (beams) ¿ substructuring techniques ¿ computational methods for kinematic and dynamic analysis ¿ Application to problems from automotive design, aeronautics and space technology. | |
| | | |
| Course objective :
| Introduction of the student to the modern methods of analysis and computer simulation of articulated mechanical systems , taking into account the structural deformation of the system components through finite element modelling. The proposed methodology has application in engineering offices for automotive design (e.g. power train, suspension) , airplane design (e.g. flaps, landing gears) and space technologies (e.g. deployable structures). | |
| | | |
| Workshops :
| Exercises and practical work on computer: MATLAB exercises, use of SAMCEF/MECANO software( http://www.samcef.com/en/pss.php?ID=23&W=products ). | |
| | | |
| Written notes :
