Course contents : Introduction to history of poetic forms in France and in french poetry since the 19th century : metrical verse, alexandrine, free verse, typographical features of the poems, relation between verse and syntax, rhyme.

First part: principles of french metrics; methodology.

Second part: evolution of the alexandrine verse; rhyme; structures.

Third part: The poem and the typography; contemporary forms.
Prerequisites : None.
Assessment : Personal research on choosen subject.
