Course contents : Every other year either an cient Greek prose or an acnient Greek poets' keywork is commented and translated. Ways and means: advanced personal reading of the lines to be commented and translated in class room; reading of the remaining parts of the work in French translation; essay on a book about the author or the selected work.
Course objective : Aims: 1) introducing the students to the selected author and his piece of writing, with respect to History of ancient Greek Literature; 2) strengthening the students's knowledge of ancient Greek language (grammar, vocabulary, stylistics); 3) stimulating the students's interest in ancient Greek language and literature.
Prerequisites : Basic knowledge of ancient Greek language.
Organization : 30 h, 2nd quadrimester.
